We had a hugely exciting Federation Day on Tuesday 15th October.

Owlets and Acorns spent the day at Ten Mile Bank with a day themed around their topic of the Great Fire of London. Thank you for your support in supplying the children with their costumes, they all looked amazing in their outfits. During the day the children experienced themed lessons, including baking, how people helped to put out the Great Fire of London and they were also able to play with traditional toys from the era.

Meanwhile, at Hilgay, Tawny Owls, Barn Owls and Oaks experienced an exciting day with Kevin Sutherland a cartoonist, who has previously worked for both Marvel and Beano. He supported the children to create their very own comic strip, with personalised characters. Mr Sutherland also sketched a caricature of each of the children to keep. There was also time for them to work in small groups to create bottle rockets.
