The monument records the names of the 46 lost sons from the village of Hilgay in the first and second World Wars, along with the sight-strong crew of an American B17 bomber, which crashed near the village in 1945. 

After 20 months of no singing and only rehearsing for 5 days, the children were amazing! It was beautiful listening to the children singing Shine Jesus Shine, Somewhere Over the Rainbow and the Blessing. Huge thanks for Miss Hurley for organising the music and playing the guitar.
